Shaded By Soso was founded by Isoken "Soso" who is a DMV native, an actor, model and content creator. Her love for sunglasses started at the age of 2 years old. Soso was teased a lot for her unique features, especially during her middle school years. In high school she started regaining her confidence and made sure she had eyewear to go with every fit. Her sense of style comes from her mom who is very stylish and always encouraged her to mix and match unique pieces. Soso loves for style has carried on with her since then. 

In August of 2022 the idea of creating Shaded By Soso came from being inspired by all the black owned businesses at Invest Fest. After 11 month of research and development Shaded By Soso launched. Tabitha Brown featured Shaded By Soso in her Very Good Mondays segment on August 19th 2024.
